Hey guys! So this is going to be my new blog. It will be talking about my experiences in the magic industry. It has been 3 years since I started doing magic and throughout my experiences in conventions which involve meeting famous world class magicians that share their knowledge during lectures, practice and workshops. Some famous magicians include: Eric Jones (Coin Magic), Helder Guimaraes (Card Magic), Dani DaOrtiz (Psychology), Max Maven (Mentalist) and many others. With all my experience gathered throughout my journey, I will be able to share with you some interesting stories and tales about the magic industry.
In my first blog post I thought I would share with you guys one of my favorite story about how one of the most used, probably the most used technique in magic. You all probably know who Houdini is. Famous escape artist, you know? Well, he told every magician out there that if they did a trick to him 3 times in a row he would know how they did it. Many magicians took Harry on this challenge and all failed, until one magician called Dai Vernon came in and did a trick called the ambitious card which consists on getting the card that the spectator chooses lost into the middle of the pack and "magically" goes straight to the top of the deck. The trick did not fool Harry Houdini, what fooled him was the technique Vernon used to preform it. It was something he developed, the improved double lift. This technique is almost all you need to preform this ambitious card trick but the way he did the double lift was so smooth and so revolutionary that it completely fooled who is known as the greatest escape artist of all time. No matter how many times Mr. Vernon did this trick to Harry, he never figured out how he did it.
